Instead, they heard it from Barry Wordsworth, the conductor of the Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO).<br \/>\nMoments before the afternoon\u2019s performance was due to begin he announced that he \u201cdid not believe\u201d in the work and it would therefore be hypocritical to perform it. Please, vote and\/or drop a line.<\/p>\n<p>Secondo <a href=\"http:\/\/entertainment.timesonline.co.uk\/tol\/arts_and_entertainment\/music\/article1495066.ece\">il Times del 10 marzo<\/a>, Barry Wordsworth, direttore stabile della Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra si \u00e8 rifiutato di dirigere un brano del compositore e organista contemporaneo Andrew Gant intitolato <em>A British Symphony<\/em>. Il tutto \u00e8 accaduto il 25 febbraio, a poche ore dalla rappresentazione (nel programma della serata, il brano \u00e8 stato sostituito dalla Sinfonia Italiana di Mendelssohn).<br \/>\nPer spiegare il proprio comportamento Wordsworth ha dichiarato che <em>&#8220;non credeva nel pezzo&#8221;<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;ambiente si \u00e8 diviso in due partiti: quelli che lodano l&#8217;onest\u00e0 intellettuale e quelli che criticano la mancanza di professionalit\u00e0.<br \/>\nCos\u00ec, d&#8217;istinto, mi viene da iscrivermi al primo (semmai criticando il fatto che non lo abbia detto prima), ma poi ho pensato alle volte in cui ho fatto l&#8217;esecutore in qualche brano di musica elettronica che non mi piaceva pi\u00f9 di tanto, sempre sforzandomi di fare bene quello che andava fatto e magari cercando di metterci qualcosa che me lo facesse amare almeno un po&#8217; e cos\u00ec non sono pi\u00f9 tanto sicuro.<\/p>\n<p>Voi che ne pensate?<br \/>\nProvo a lanciare un altro poll.
